Live/work exchange at eco-smallholding in Wales

We are an extended family (a couple - Naomi and Pip, 2 small children - Elma and Vita and - Michelle- a grandmother!) living on an eco-smallholding by the sea in the wild west of Wales (SA44 6QG). We have just over 9 acres of land, including organic certified pasture where sheep graze, woodland, a small orchard and a large polytunnel and outside food growing area, where we also keep chickens. We grow as much food as we can for ourselves, always according to organic growing principles, and sell any excess fruit, vegetables and eggs to friends and local cafes.

Researcher looking for UK farmers motivated by considering human health in their farming approach

Dr Rosalind (Lindy) Sharpe, Research Fellow: Food & Brexit, Food Research Collaboration, Centre for Food Policy, City, University of London is looking to interview farmers (of all types, based anywhere in the UK), who are motivated by concerns about human health, or who take human health into account in their approach to farming.

This is a marvellous opportunity for (non-industrial agriculture/horticulture) growers/farmers to be involved in primary research on the UK food and farming system.

Intern wanted in north west Wales

Lovely, smiling, self-starting, veg growing intern wanted for a summer outside between the mountains and sea in north west Wales.

We are a small, family run, permaculture inspired farm. We produce meat, milk, eggs and veg but all on a small and human scale and in a regenerative way.

We think that growing healthy food for your local community is about the most important job possible and this year we want to move from providing veg for our farm population to feeding our community.

Green up your community with free trees from Octopus Energy

Do you have community space in need of some trees? We're planting 10,000 native saplings across the UK, free, to draw attention to the air pollution that kills 40,000 Brits every year.

For every new tree in the ground, 2 kg of carbon dioxide is saved from polluting the atmosphere.

We're planting 10,000 trees.

That'll save the UK eight tonnes of carbon dioxide per year, create homes for hundreds of insects and critters, and trap harmful particulate matter like nitrogen dioxide.
