About the Job:
30 Hours / week ( averaged) £15,600
Kirkstall Valley Farm is a community-led sixteen-acre Community Supported Agriculture project
in the heart of urban Leeds which aims to supply up to 100 veg shares each week to local
households, as well as providing outdoor green space for the community. We are about to begin
our first season in 2021 and are recruiting an experienced, enthusiastic and hard-working
grower to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape one of the UK’s most urban,
exciting and unique Community Supported Agriculture schemes from start-up. As part of a local
community benefit society, we have excellent links within the local community as well as a
diverse and active volunteer network. We are an active CSA Network member and work closely
with other similar local enterprises and the local agricultural college. Less than two miles from
the centre of Leeds, the Kirkstall Valley is a densely populated, incredibly diverse urban
community which brings with it huge opportunities in terms of both the capacity to involve,
educate & inform the community about sustainable food production, the benefits of shared
endeavour and wildlife, and the diversity & resilience of the project.
